Spring 2020 Wild Turkey Hunt
The 2020 Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge wild turkey hunt will be held April 24-26, 2020. A total of 18 permits will be available for 2020 (6 carried over from the 2019 season). Hunters may come to the Refuge Office Monday through Friday 8:00a-4:00p from January 6-31, 2020 to apply and may list one buddy on the application. There is a non-refundable application fee of $5 per person. You may also apply through the mail by sending the name, phone number, and email address (for 1 or 2 hunters), along with a $5 hunter application fee per hunter to:

A random drawing will be held on February 6th and drawn hunters will be notified on February 7th. The permit fee for drawn hunters is $50/hunter. As a reminder, all hunters are required to have a valid State of Texas hunting license and an upland game bird endorsement to participate. Legal weapons are bow and arrow, crossbow, and shotgun (no shot larger than #4, non-toxic shot only). Only lead free, non-toxic (steel, bismuth, copper or tungsten) shot may be used and possessed while hunting wild turkeys on the refuge. We do not allow baiting, or hunting over bait.Comment
