Grew up in Grandfalls. Not much to do in the area especially if working as most everything requires you to drive out to it. Odessa/Midland will be closest entertainment. Now if your in the area on the weekends lots of things to the south to go and explore. Big Bend, New Mexico, Fort Davis, Alpine etc...

Not sure what roads you will be driving but I will add to be extremely careful driving out in that part of the world some really sketchy roads and even sketchier drivers.
