    First BBQ w/ trailer build-welding

I've have limited welding skills but can strike an arc and run a puddle.
Always wanted a big pit. Took over a year but am happy with the results. My wife, the lovely and gracious Miss Pat was having doubts when this rust bucket was in the back yard. But it's done. Had a few challenges but rebar makes a good filler. I did copy the "S" handle design for the fire box and the smoke shack lever too. More desire than skill, but she works and man, is it a wood hog!

Appreciate that shooter. I have about $1000 in it from metal, odd n ends, blast and paint. Axle, wheel, tires, tank and fire box all from scavenging. Even the grill cross supports are old mauser gun barrels.
          Will keep it a while.

              Smoke stack and "S" latch.
Made the frame at son's sign shop. Everything else: hammered, cut, grinded, heated and bent and welded in my driveway.
I did use the company's winch truck to set and balance the smoker on frame.

A work of art to be sure ! Looks like a lot of hard work.
A man with a cracker-box in his garage is different from
a guy with a full shop. I bet you could tell some stories
about some "Smithing" skills you learned....
Looks like you could feed an army with it !
