We've been hunting management bucks and does. Yesterday evening I arrowed both these bucks within an hour. I have doubled on does before but never had two shooter bucks present themselves on the same hunt.
At 4 pm, the feeder went off and within 15 minutes I had a buck fawn and a forkhorn eating corn. A few minutes later they both looked to my right at another buck coming in. He had to stop and think about it for a minute but made the fatal mistake of entering my shooting lane. I shot him and watched him fall. It wasn't even 4:30 yet.
Since it was so early I nocked another arrow and decided to keep hunting, just in case. Eventually, the other deer came back and they brought some buddies with them but they didn't stay long and it got very quiet. I didn't see another deer until 5:30 when a different forkhorn showed up. Then, a big bodied buck came out and limped across the road. I immediately saw it was a mature 8 point and, as soon as he presented me with a shot, I killed him too. Both bucks ended up aging 5.5.
