I am in black farming dirt in Central Texas - need a fast growing large tree to plant that takes very little water - need it for screening off a neighbor - suggestions?

Little gem magnolia, Japanese blueberry, how tall are you wanting it to get?

Pioneers used to pulverize horse apples (Osage orange) in water then pour the slush in a ditch where they wanted their living fence to grow, if you want it thicker cut the back in the first year or two, otherwise just let them grow

Trees that grow fast usually die fast. Monterrey Oak.will get to.the size you want but not over night. A tall tree will be sparse at the lower level. What do you want to screen out?

Every heard the phrase, ash is trash? They grow pretty fast but they are very brittle and rot pretty easily.

You could always plant some bamboo. That'll screen them out quick.
