Just a Few From Caddo Lake Over Thanksgiving

My cousin bought a place on Big Cypress Bayou and we spent an afternoon out there playing around. Very beautiful area. I can't wait to go back.

Awwwwww......love it! I can almost picture me with my grandfather in his little blue john boat fishing in those canals with that heavy Spanish moss hitting the water's edge. As long as I don't remember any of those dang nasty water moccasins...I feel content seeing those pics!!!

Great job capturing the scene Casey!

How long has he lived there ? And hows he like it ? I have been looking at buying a house on caddo but not sure. About work, schools for granddaughter, crime rate ? Any and all info. would be greatly appreciated. I loved it down there just have to convince the wife. Great pictures.

One used to harass me all the way to a creek bottom squirrel hunting. Had to walk past a good sized water hole to get in the woods and could see limbs shaking all over and by the time he got to chattering most would be hiding by the time I got in shotgun range. They're annoying birds. OP how is the giant salvinia on Caddo now? It's basically destroyed Bistineau and has washed down to several of the Red River oxbows. It's bad stuff. Some idiot got some into Fork in Chaney. Hope TPWD can eradicate it before it gets going. Clean you boat and trailer very good everytime you leave that lake. That stuff is terrible.

I've never been on caddo lake. I've heard of a lot of guys running mud motors on this lake. Can you get around very good in a outboard?

It depends on where you're at. Crime isn't bad at all. Lots of folks still leave their houses unlocked. Schools on the other hand.... Karnack is horrible. Jefferson is better. A lot of people on the lake have started sending their kids to a private school that they all seem to love.
