Default 2018 Dallas Cowboys season thread....

I thought I had already started this but couldn't find it! ....so I guess I didn't.

Another year of experience for the QB and RB with no big distractions! Hoping the D can bring the pain and the offense gets their **** together. Excited about Gallup, Jaylon Smith and the Dline for a change.

Tonight is game 4 of the preseason..... Looks like the Texans' scrubs versus Dallas' really ****ty scrubs. Ready for the real season to start myself.

Let's Go Cowboys!

If Gregory can stay clean, and the line stays fairly healthy...this could be their best defense in a long time.

Im very skeptical of the offense with no real pass catching threats...

I'm so glad dez is gone.

Already talk of Gregory being suspended.

They don't seem to need a pass catching threat because Dak can't hit the broad side of a barn past 10yds.

I just hope Zeke can carry the offense.

I haven't heard any talk about Gregory being suspended again. That would suck because he looks good so far. I think they've got a shot to win the east this year if they can stay healthy and get the secondary figured out. If the o line is healthy I'm not worried about Dak. We need to hurry up and cut Chaz Green so Dak doesnt get ptsd everything he looks at him.

As the season fast approaches, I can't see the offense doing much if the offensive line suffers any additional injuries... It had been the strongest part of the team but we will see what happens this year with the injury bug. As for the defense, if Smith is back to 100% he should help improve the linebackers... Secondary, should be improved just on account of their experiance level rising... The defensive line which will make or brake the defense will need to pull a Hillary and stay out of trouble... Yes a Hillary, thats when someone commits crimes but gets away with it!!

Going to come down to a lot more than that. Hope Dak is able to figure it out this year and can find a guy or two that can get open and catch it.

There are some things on the defensive side I think we can be excited about. Gregory and Lawrence could turn into a pretty fearsome pass rushing tandem. After the last 20+ years I try to keep my expectations in check though.

I think that was a lot about nothing with Gregory, or at least that is the way it is sounding, I have said all along this D was going to be much improved and they were not bad last year, we need EARL !!!!!!!!!!!

Gregory didn’t make it to the game dealing with personal issues, I’d bet he will be suspended.

No. He had a scheduled meeting with the league medical committee. He couldn't make a flight back to Houston so he went to Dallas, he wasn't gonna play anyway.

You are basing that off of a meaningless game with the 3rd and 4th teams players fighting for a spot on the 53 tonight? This is the bottom of the barrel preseason game......

No. I am basing it off of coaching staff that has no clue, no receiving corps, defense that gives up lots of yardage off the corners even while first team is playing, a soft secondary, and my gut feeling.

I do hope I'm wrong.

You question me and you can't even spell it????

I agree with Smart, the D will be the backbone of this team, if you can play great defense and run the ball you have a good chance to win a lot of games.

Kinda like to know what words I've had to eat so far.

Was it when I said "If they get by the Packers" last time they were in the playoff?

Was it when I said Dak wouldn't be so special in years to come after his first year?

Less than 3 hours to go. And now the season really starts!
So here's a little encouragement for all the fans to "kick-off" the season.

Go Cowboys!

Hope Dak continues to be super at protecting each possession. Elliot is likely to have a difficlut day vs this D-line. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.
