Looking for a thread? Kayakers shot at on Nueces or Aransas River?

Looking for an older thread that had a story regarding some kayaker who were fishing that were being shot at, flipped their kayaks over on too of them, and waited for game warden to help and rescue them. Does that ring a bell for anyone? Anyone have the thread or news story?

Caller times link is no more but I remember it. Seems like kayakers ran up on some drug heads cooking or growing since that part of the delta is pretty remote but right in the shadow of corpus. What sparked your memory Ross someone paddling into a duck hunt?
