Just curious what round everyone carries in your pistols and why?

Right now I carry 40 cal federal hydro shock 165gr, looking to switch though. Can't decide on 165gr or 180gr.

Federal HST 147+P in my m&p 9c and the 180 hst out of my full size m&p .40. In my ar I run the 65gr Sierra Game King over imr 4166.


I like heavy for caliber bullets in most cases. Heavy=more energy.

Currently I'm shooting Win PDX1 165gr .40/G23 and 230gr in 45ACP/1911. 9mm/G19 runs Win LE Ranger 147gr.

Just ordered a bunch of Fed tactical HST 40 & 45 so we'll see how it does.

The ones I'm referring to are their new rounds. They make both new ammo and reloaded ammo in RN and HP.

124 +P or 147 +P HST or Gold Dots in 9mm

230 +P HST or Gold Dot in my 45 ACP.

I run XTPs in my 380s because they typically penetrate deeper that most other defense rounds.
