We had a local guy put it up. He built our barn a few years ago as well.

Finally had a decent deer show up on camera between all the hogs and sheep. Need to pull the chip next time I am up to see the higher quality photo.

Just got back from San Saba. Dry ,but still looking good for Aug. Grass still has some color. Put out corn & protein. Filled waterers. Got a pig last night with bow. Deer are looking great & it sure is nice to see all the fawns this summer. Got a couple of nice bucks coming along.

I’m headed to the ranch tonight for a quick trip. Not sure I’ll get much done, but I’ll get cameras checked and roads corned.

Everything sure has dried out around here. The good thing though is antler growth is pretty much done. The bucks are looking excellent!

I'm sure it's pretty dry on our lease in Mason county as well.

I probably won't go back until in September sometime. Fill feeders, hunt hogs and maybe shoot some doves. I'm looking forward to looking at some critters and pulling trail camera cards to see what's showing up.

Can't wait to get out there Labor Day weekend and see what's walking around.

Worried it's going to be a whole bunch of pigs, but we'll see.

I’ve finally whittled down enough pigs at one feeder to start getting deer pictures. Plus moving my feed times a little later in the morning helped as well.

Just got back from our place in San Saba. Country is dry,but expected this time of year. Was 102 both days & windy. Hopefully, get some showers soon. Deer are looking great & noticed some small acorns on one of the trees over one of the waterers. Deer are looking great & seeing lots of fawns. Unfortunitely no pigs seen while hunting.

I did a quick stop at our place in Fredericksburg. Itís dry. Both tanks still had water in them. Filled two feeders and then got a text from the landowner and her husband. They were cooking fillets and shrimp if I wanted to join them. Couldnít say no.

Radar showed our lease to get a pretty decent rain this evening. Not sure how much it did actually rain but I'll take what we can get this time of year.

Our landowner is usually there every Saturday (checks on stuff). I'll check with him tomorrow to see how much we picked up. An inch or more would be pretty awesome.

Just checked out the radar again. Looks like it's still raining some on the lease. Awesome!!!!

We did some spot checking of the oak trees on our place in Northern Llano county and they were loaded with little acorns. Looked like it is going to be a bumper crop this year.

Acorns thick here on our place in San Saba. Already starting to fall and deer are on them. Not hitting corn or protein real hard right now.

Didnít shoot many doves, but got a little of the wet stuff and had a great weekend. Lots of deer, no studs. Mostly youngsters and culls.

New feeder on range. 100 yards to dirt mound.

They found it quickly...

Lots of activity at my feeder, but this was the best buck I saw...

Even though itís very dry, they must have enough food. Still tons of persimmons within browse height.

Got a little rain from a couple of small cells.

Anyhow, I shot like 6 dove but had a great time in Fredericksburg, as always.

I know most one here (including myself) are on a lease out west. Mine is in Doss and my family has been on it for years , since the 80s. However, we are not allowed to bow hunt on it due to landowner preference. No big deal, but i would like to find somewhere around there i could bow hunt. Any leads would help, thanks!

We got to the lease late yesterday afternoon. Kinda green here still. I will pull the trail camera pictures here in a bit and take a look at them when it's really hot this afternoon.

Didn't have time to hunt yesterday but my son and myself are up and at it this morning (were hunting together).

Few new bucks have been showing up the last 7 days and they are about 50/50 on night or day showings.

Pops shot a 250-275 pig a week or so ago and a even bigger one just showed up to replace him... Rams show up when the hay is put out like clockwork but at 14$ a bale they do not get it very often lol

My cellular trailcam shows an increase in activity at the feeder over the last month, as things have dried out and turned brown. Whenever the acorns drop, that feeder activity will probably curtail. Anybody seeing acorns drop around Roosevelt yet?

It was pretty slow in Blanco county. My uncle shot an old 6 pt cull on Saturday
Morning but that was about the only mature deer we saw all weekend. Pretty good amount of acorns on the ground and still plenty in the trees. As burnt up as it is I donít imagine they will last long before something eats them.
