Praying for you! Cancer is a terrible disease! They have been making great strides recently in this field with medications. What are you having infused?

I want to thank everyone that responded. Quarterback, the one I have now looks like an engineers jack. Apparently we didn't go far enough with the surgery done in October, and the bone it is attached to an the vertebrae below is, or has gotten soft due to the tumors actions. I believe it's called litic destruction. This has caused the hardware to be loose, and that's where the pain seems to be coming from. In the back, I have rods with screws attached to the spine, I understand these will be replaced with longer ones. I have very little pain when I wake up, but as I get out of bed and begin to move around, I will take meds, and until they take effect, I have incredible pain. once they begin to work, then I can sit around, get up and move around without too much pain. Cant stand up for long periods.

Just been notified the surgeries will begin on May 6th. 3 separate procedures. During all this, we are having to prove to the insurance company that we are still married. No issues during the 30 years when I provided our insurance did we ever have to jump through any hoops like this. They want marriage license, mortgage, anything that we have together. It happens every 2 years, or whenever insurance changes. I am sure they would like me off the policy.

This is the closest I could find a pic for. Of course it will be longer for 3 vertebrae. I am going to see if they will give me the one they take out.

I wish you the very best. My dad had pancreatic cancer so I know how tough the chemo and radiation is on the body.

Opdivo. We go in wed. next week for infusion. Will discuss continuation with the oncologist. This stuff is super expensive. I was going every 2 weeks for a year, then protocol went to every 4 weeks and double the amount infused. I was quoted $15K per treatment when it was every 2 weeks. Filled out some paperwork, and the mfg. is paying for my treatment. The difference is it takes a little longer to get to max out of pocket $$$$.
I gripe about the insurance co. but I would be screwed without them. Probably be dead by now if I didn't have it.

On the upside, I have absolutely no side effects from Opdivo.
