Got email saying someone sent me 950.00 dollars to my paypal. I then get email saying that they sent it to wrong email address can i send it back.

Couple hours later get email from "paypal" ask8ng me to send money back.

So i called paypal fraud dept. They donr have record of a dispute or any emails sent to me.

Yesterday i get call from 817 area code from a girl saying her boyfriend is the one who sent money. I directed them to paypal.


What's the GS's opinion

Cash it out and then hold the cash for a month. Then, if nothing happens or is said, send it to the girl.

What email did they send it to?

I just sold something on flea bay and had an old email address on my profile there. That is where flea bay told here to send the money.

I had to add that email account to me paypal account for the money to show.

I would work with them. I have accidentally paid the wrong person before. Imagine if it were you that fat fingered a recipient and then lost $800.

The money is not yours. Call paypal and let them know the situateion. Let the sender know that you are willing to work with them, but NOTHING OUTSIDE OF PAYPAL.

If the money really is in your paypal account, it is a simple button click to do a refund. It's not that hard.

I would do the right thing and give it back.
