Who has made their own wood stove?

I’m making a stove for my FIL for his shop. My problem is I can’t find the right size pipe that stove pipe will fit. Where did you guys find the right size pipe?

Are you talking about chimney pipe to fit the stove?

Well I’m going to try and do 6 inch stove pipe. However I can’t find the right pipe with the correct outside diameter that 6 inch stove pipe will slip over and clamp to.

Maybe some of this would work?

The first piece of pipe usually slides inside the ring on top of the stove, and the ring is usually tapered.

Make a concentric reducer. Buy a black book.

the stove exit is just a hole in the top plate. there is an adapter piece made of stove pipe that is inserted from the inside of the stove that usually has tabs that hold it in place.

As Dale pointed out, the stove pipe goes inside the collar on top of the stove. That way creosote will drain back inside the stove and not on the stove top.

The pipe you want is 6" inside diameter. You will find it in a tubing and not in a pipe size.
