So my buddy and I have been making quadpod stands for the ranch over the last couple of years and this summer we decided to make a two-seat double. By utilizing the design of previous builds, we were able to incorporate a center-pivot shaft with dual seat support arms.
We made brass bushings and fitted the support arm collars with grease fittings to eliminate noise.
We then built a 6' octagon platform...
...and proceeded with our typical quadpod build including leg collars, legs, platform supports and ladder. We decided to include a frame to hang some mesh/burlap to help break-up the stand a little better. Seat height is about 9'.
Then off to get prepped, primered and painted!
Last, but not least, some pics of the painted stand in the brush.
Here are some pics of two other stands we built that were taken to the ranch last summer. The smaller platform stand seat height is about 8' while the larger stand seat height is about 12'.
