Default Masters - 2018

It's almost time for the golf world to begin again. Tournament time at Augusta begins May 5th. Looks like Tiger will be on a number of teams for the first time in years. Taking his place on the bench will be Jordan Spieth. I may have Five Guys Michelson on my team for this one but no way I'll have him for the U.S. Open.

RULES:

* Pick 6 players for your team. After the final round we will total your 4 best scores for the 4 rounds for your teams score.

* Losers send Ol'Abe to the winner

* Team entry dead line **** Wednesday May 4, at 12 midnight.

* if you want to change a pick on your team.
**** It must be (1 player named and added) for (1 player named and removed) by Wednesday midnight***

* Playoff - Playoff rules to be announced.

The Committee

Start thinking and talking about your picks.

Comments about preferred locations for the upcoming TBH OPEN are encouraged. The Committee has no input in this decision and has not asked for help by The Mayor. This has never kept our group from having a position on anything and everything

Well it looks like we will wind up having at least a sixsome. Had one of the pros at RTJ Oxmoor Valley give me of list of courses in San Antonio to consider. Now if I can just find the list I'll post it. The only one I remember is La Cantera.

Pick 6 players. Your low 4 player total after Sunday's round is your teams score. If ya don't have 4 make the cut. Your Ghandi on Friday! Pay the winner ASAP !

I say the committee has a vote to place these 2 on the committee. They can be in charge of inquiries and complaints department.

Thanks for waking me up. I had forgotten we make all the rules
.

Looks like I need to crank up the new computer and start entering all the teams. It's going to be a good year.

I still like Fossil Creek as the course. As bad as the DOT delays can be, it is still only about a 650 mile drive for me. I am willing to give the staff at the golf shop a pass for wearing caps inside. Arnie would never allow that at one of his courses' but he would understand driving across the street to get a cocktail

Someone mentioned Champions Walk or Circle as an alternative last year. I did a little recon on the course last year and it looks acceptable. Add in the Speedway, Buccee's, all the boot discount stores and Mule Barn and it looks pretty good.

KMart49 also suggested a course maybe along I-20 but I forget the name.

Fossil Creek still has the facilities, cold beer on course, driving range for a possible fund raiser, hotels in the are, HH location and a awards presentation ceremony and is a great place to play if we can keep the frisbee throwers off the course...or out of their yards I don't know which

I actually along with my partner Abcdj has enjoyed Fossil Creek, trophies to prove. My time in equipment vans at Houston Open starts tomorrow, have a pass where I can park with players and caddies. If time allows I will post pics of some of the players, some of the guys may ask for the autograph of the famed 17NCS.
Only TBH sticker in parking lot.
My pick for the Masters this year is as follows:
Kevin Kinser, Bubba Watson, Tommy Fleetwood, Tiger Woods, Louis Oostheizen, Justin Rose

Paging Kmart49, did you post a course South of I-20 or in the South DFW last year? What was it?
On my first trip to the TBH Open I drove by White Stone in Benbrook but it looked kind of lean for our crowd. Also, do not recall looking for bars, hotels, restaurants or bars in that area.

When last I heard from the bosses last year, Fossil was still at the top of the list for this year. Last time I saw the FC manager (in the Flips parking lot) he said we were good to return...although we may have to come up with a fake ID for my padnah. We may consider a gofundme to pay for uber rides for all of my idiot friends.

Attendance is the key...the 1st time it dips its off to Houston or San Antone. I begged the powers that be for a shot in Cowtown and they've given us 3...can't complain either way. I'll gladly campaign again if fossil gets the nod, Mary knows where to find me. Ialready have her a Houston consultant in place if Houston gets the call.

All due respect to KMart, but I hate that course at the speedway...it lacks character imo.

Did you notice how closed his pitching/chipping stance was on Sunday? If his imagination and short game are working the way they were in Austin...

Three more get in after the Match Play last week. If someone not currently qualified wins the Texas Open they punch their ticket to Augusta.

Bubba sounds like he is up for this year's Masters. I wonder what the stimpmeter is running over there. Has anyone heard?

Pure Lefty, how are things going in the equipment bus? Drop a couple of BB's down the shaft of Kevin Na or Ian Poulter's clubs if the have any work done. What does everyone say is the hottest golf ball? Or shaft?

The Quarry is playing really nice right now, Brackenridge, Republic of Texas, if you don't mind spending some jack TPC San Antonio is always a great choice. The Falls outside Columbus is a hidden gem, and my favorite courses in San Antonio are Sonterra, canyon springs, and once the greens grow up The golf club of Texas on 90W

Picking 7 guys we will correct. Picking only 5 there will be radio silence!

Come on! We need more teams.

It's early I know. But the sooner you post your team the more you will add and delete. It will test our scoring departments capabilities. Hehe!

There is one coming out by the new company that bought matrix, 1200.00 not out yet. Nobody was real excited about them. Graphite Design Tour AD is super strong in popularity, retail around 350-400 each. Nippon steel iron and wedge shafts are growing in popularity every day. Pro v1 and Bridgestone are the hottest, Chrome Soft has good following. Pro v1 way ahead. Forgot to get pics, but went to range today to eat lunch and there were large plastic containers of Tp5 and Chrome Soft and others on range. When you are as good as them and Abcdj, thats what you hit on the range.

Equipment van was pretty dead this week, pro am was Monday. Had rain today, Houston is one of those that a lot of players come in on Wednesday. Had to go to players locker room to pu some shafts that were shipped in. What's interesting is a lot of players have their stuff shipped to the tournament in large plastic totes, of course a lot don't fly commercial. You could tell by looking that a lot of players hadn't arrived. Spent some time visiting in the PXG van, it is plush.
