Looking good so far; however, I would reconsider those hinges and go with something significantly stronger. Most Steel Supply stores will have some heavy duty hinges. If it was going to be a stationary pit, it'd probably be ok, but consider heat stress and all the vibrations and potholes/bumps you'll be hitting

Anyone want to start a DIY pit like this one and has a trailer and is need of a pit, Here ya are. Located in Rocksprings at my Ranch. Welded to a steel trailer that I plan on building a Double Blind on. It is an easy cut or grind the welds off to remove the pit. Oh she's heavy

The Best part is. You remove the pit from the trailer, It Yours.....FREE

If you ever build another one, leave a strip of the shell between the doors. It will help keep the tank round, and be allot stronger. Yours is going to have allot of flex right there.

I did some rework to a guys tank type pit once, and I had to put a strong arm from the top (between the doors) to the bottom to stiffen it up some.

Since its too late to leave material between the doors, I would brace the middle of the opening at a minimum

                          like it..
echo what others have said..youre going to want to brace that center between the doors..sooner than later.

looks good. Do you feel the wheel will be in the way of working the pit?
