David Sluder said he was picking up some food at Wendy’s in Hernando on Wednesday when he caught what appears to be a big cat walking out of the woods across the street.

No such thing as a black panther in the US.

Some of yall need to do a little research

Well that didn’t take long. Did you watch the video? What is it then? In your “expert” opinion of course.

More inclined to say mt. lion, looks like its standing in the shade of that tree which makes it look black. Definitely too big to be a house cat. Head/body is the wrong shape for a jaguar too.

Looks like a Mt.lion to me. Doesn't look black at all.

Looks like a Savannah cat which is a large domestic breed that grow to around 30 lbs. https://www.google.com/search?q=blac...w=1280&bih=678

When people say panther we just assume they are talking about a leopard. panther is just a color "phase" in large cats. there are black mt. lions and calling them panthers is not totally off the mark.

There's been "no such thing" said about a few species until there was.

Video has been around before... Not sure what the conclusion was.

It is black, I just have my suspicions on it being a mountain lion/black panther. Seems to be acting more like a smaller cat chasing field rats rather than a big cat.

Could be an exotic pet as mentioned earlier just can't place what kind of cat would fit that description.
