Wife, the professor, needs a new laptop for work. No fancy dancy gaming type computers needed but would like it to be nice 15" screen for getting classes prepped, subject matter created and grades recorded etc etc Hopefully Black Friday sales will come through for us.


Hell I'm not even real sure what the speeds and memory capabilities/requirements are these days.

Buy her a google Chromebook on Amazon. You can pick one up for 150 to 200 bucks. I bought my son one 3 years ago for college and he still uses it. Screw spending 1,000 to 2,000 on one. If his breaks I will tell him to throw it away and I will order him one and he will have it in 2 days I bought my daughter one also that shes had for about 2 years

i'm in the same boat. i have 2008 macbook pro that has been chugging along until now. it's started giving me fits. i started doing a bit of video from my hunts and would like to be able to edit it. don't know where to start.

I am the same as you... Have a 2007 MacBook Pro that I just upgraded components on (new SSD drive & 16GB of RAM). Upgrades cost 200 bucks so that was an easy decision. Should last a while longer...

We don't have a Costco around here but rumor is they are putting a HP 15.6 with i5, 12gb and 1 tb ssd on sale tomorrow

I will be headed to McKinney Sat morning to pick 2 up and visit wife's sister's family if so
