Default Errant Shot on Pig - Good Result!

I yanked a shot at a pig at CDLC on Saturday evening, but found a good blood trail when I went to look for my arrow. I had to crawl or push through some REALLY thick brush, but I found the pig about 40 yards in. Short video below...

That spinal artery is a great place to hit on an errant shot. Ive spined more critters than I care to admit but theyve all died quickly and trail was short.

Great video as always Michael.

The trail was short, but that might be the thickest brush on the ranch! LOL! And I was wearing Crocs!

I hit 2" from lungs and lose my avatar deer for 30 days and luckily get another shot at him... .....You hit 1-1.5 feet behind the lungs and he's dead in 40 yards.. I need me some of that kinda luck..

Do we have a new Assman on the board? Sometimes those shots are quick kills. I've done that on a doe myself. Matter of fact, I think you were filming it on the Kenedy.

Congrats on the pork and thanks for the dose of reality!

I hit a cactus buck right in the buttcheek earlier this season and he only went about 40-50 yards before completely bleeding out. Embarrassing, but did the job.

Default Errant Shot on Pig - Good Result!

My buddy Michael shot this deer a couple weeks ago. 6 Too fat back, and nearly a foot high...hit high in the back, just behind midpoint of the body. Dead in 40 yds...if I did that Id still be looking for it...

1st congrats. However am a bit confused with the terminology used. Title of video is "Texas Heart Shot". Growing up that shot placement was always referred to as an "Arkansas Heart Shot". That and if someone shot the animal in the neck, it was said the the shooter "put a Texas" on the animal. Guess it is a geographical thing.
In light of an honest and full disclosure...I'm from Mississippi

I hit one earlier this year right at about his waist area, just in front of the back legs. About the same 40 yard trail. Amazing how those arteries can help back there, but you hit one lung high and it's lost!

Congrats

You're from Huffman.....we already assumed the Croc part. Dead is dead....good job.

First deer I ever killed with a bow, in 1991, was spined. I made a bad shot and it died where it stood. It was a bad shot, but a dead deer. I'll take it.

I hope my Flip-flop Crocs will work, cause I've got 3 pairs. Two pair are camo; one for day and one for night. The other pair is for dress-up Flip-flops.
