If you do it right you don't need one for the bone. The havalon will do it all. That said I carry the havalon as well as a nice 6 inch fixed blade. The fixed blade is for emergencies the havalon is for cutting up critters
I carry a fixed blade I made and a havalon. Sometimes I've got a liner lock I've made just because it's usually in my pocket. No way I'd go with just a havalon/folding knife, but people do all the time.

Yep, if you know what your doing no other knife needed
I can’t even get through a whitetail with only one Havalon blade before breaking it. I like heavier fixed blades.
If you breaking blades your doing it wrong. Let the blade do the work and don't try to muscle it. I always have 5-10 extra blades in the pack but can do a full animal with one. Haven't done an elk yet but have done muleys and white tails with one blade.
