    Best SHTF book series?

I'd like to read some of the apocalypse/SHTF book series but there are several of these series out there.
Does the GS have any recommendations on which ones to read and/or avoid?
Here is what I've found so far:

Once upon an apocalypse - Journey Home/The Search/Gathering Home
    by Jeff Motes

Getting Out/Staying Alive/Pushing On by Ryan Westfield

One Second After/One Year After/The Final Day by William Forstchen

Most of my "reading" these days is done by audiobook while I drive. These are a few that have entertained me.

Day by Day Armageddon Series by JL Bourne (In one of the books, the characters spend some time in Nada, TX. Being from El Campo, I thought that was cool since it is such a small community)

Black Tide Rising Series by John Ringo

    Not really SHTF, but similar::

Enemies Foreign and Domestic by Matthew Bracken (After a mass shooting the government bans semi auto weapons and starts hunting down people they deem to be "terrorists")

Maybe doesn't fit into the catagory, but easily the most entertaining fiction i've ever read or listened to:

Monster Hunter International Series by Larry Correa.

Look up the series by A. American
Going home, surviving home etc. I'm on the last book right now. Library actually has this series so I didn't have to buy them. Easy read

        Fiction or Non-fiction?

I really enjoyed the Madd Addam trilogy by Margaret Atwood

William Forthchen's Day of Wrath scared the $*%^ out of me.

I don't think there is a better writer about SHTF than Forthchen.

Bobby Akart's The Lone Star series is entertaining.

Just finished Akart's lone star series and it's good but his Boston Brahmin series gets my vote for the best.

I still need to read the last one but if ever there was SHTF, I think this book reflects how society will handle it.

I second this. I have read three of his series: days of Noah, days of Elijah, and seven cows ugly and gaunt. I need to start his new series, he’s very biblically based but has a great writing style.
