    Indestructible feeder ???

Looking for a feeder that is elk proof. Concrete and a y’all pole is not an option. The elk and oryx are tearing up my corn and protein feeders(timed). We have put up panel around the spinners and they work on some and not on others. Anyone have experience with feeders that nothing can turn over or Knock the motor off?

After seeing a few whitetail bucks fight in feed pens and what they tore up. I would say with an elk there is nothing safe or unbreakable. Those suckers are huge!

Sorry but i don't think there are any out there that are elk, aoudad, oryx, etc proof. Aoudad broke one of my feed arms off so i welded 2X2 angle iron across the feed arms to the legs and 2" strap metal around the tube ends on mine. So far they have held up. Also don't stake them down. That makes it easier for them to tear them up. They hit mine and turn them but they don't tear them up anymore.

You have to go in and fight a few when they're getting rowdy with the feeders. Establish dominance and they'll fall in line.

Hang it in a tree where they can’t reach it

Surprised no one said “ kill all the elk “

That might be the best thing to do. We had a few oryx get acidosis and die from over eating corn from where the elk tore a motor off.

I must hunt where animals have manners because I have never had a problem with my feeders except for horses.

Not the best pic but this is what we ended up having to do to keep them out. Haven't had any problems since

Contrary to what others say, Texas Wildlife Supply feeders will handle what you need.
Cattle panel for a varmint cage and an eliminator spin plate. 12 feeders like this serviced (check the eliminator plate washer, set height, clean) once a year and no problems for the past 6 or so years. Aoudad and elk destroyed plenty of feeders before we switched to these. We have a few 600lb and a few 800lb feeders, some were the original prototypes, I forget which.

Recently added two Outback feeders, 2250lb hopper for timed protein and 750lb hopper for broadcasting. Only expecting coons to be an issue.

I am worried the elk will knock down stand and fill feeders when they get low on corn. These elk are really rough in feeders. While filling them we have one person watch our back because they will come right up to you.
