    I Think It’s Time...

I have a lot of good buddies who love bow hunting. I’ve decided it’s time to join them. I’ll be honest, don’t really have a clue where to start.

What do I need? What don’t I need? What should I be mindful of? I’m not on a budget, and I want quality gear. Not interested in a budget setup.

Thanks in advance. If it matters, I hunt Real County. Hill country whitetail, aoudad, stag, pig, javelina, turkey...needs to handle all of the above.

Go to a bow shop and tell them your not on a budget and want quality. I'm sure they will be happy to help you. Joking.

Start by putting your location in your profile so folks can tell you about a good bowshop in your area.

A few days ago I could have fixed you up with a really good rig, but alas....it's gone. I suggest buying a good name brand USED bow for your first one. If you don't like bow hunting, you lose $100 instead of $500 when you sell it.

You’re right about that. I try not to just rush into things, especially something in don’t really know much about. There is so much to it, hard to filter what’s relevant/important.

Listen to what everyone has to say and then decide for yourself what's best for you.
Nothing wrong with a limited budget.

In reality people make it much more complex than it has to be. Really a very simple activity. As long at you get fitted correctly (draw length main issue)

No need for it to be remotely complex
