    car alarm bypass

My wife's cousin has a 2001 Toyota Camry and has been having all kinds of issues with the factory alarm. Sometimes just sitting in the garage it will go off, sometime it will as she is driving. I have read up on how to temporarily disable the alarm, but was wondering if it would do any long term damage to disable it and never reset it?

Go to Toyotanation.com and do a search there. I saw several posts for this issue.

Check for a hood latch recall. Sounds odd, but my neighbor had one that wouldn't quit until the battery died! She had gone on vacation for a week. Ended up being something with the hood latch! For the record, a car alarm takes hours upon hours to finally drain a battery!

My buddies wife's toyota was doing the exact same thing. They literally had to leave the trunk up every night so the factor alarm didn't go off. They finally had the alarm system disabled permanently.
