I can only take CNN in small doses, but they're having a difficult time articulating all that was wrong with the speech .

Huh? Not a negative just a factual observation. Even the R's are stating it really helped him tonight to "focus and drill down". Best he has ever done.

Yeah the former Governor of Kentucky was booted out by a winning Republican!

And they, THE DEMOCRATS, tout Obama Care like it was going to remain solvent and continue to deliver Medical care. The darn ACA was going to implode leaving folks who are on it tanked, as well as taking down Medicare and Medicad and literally caving in the entire Medical and Medical Insurance industries. And they never want to mention the millions on ACA coverage, which were folks already on Medicad and Medicare.

Obama Care was and is an absolute disaster and as it implodes - from the hands of the DEMS, they will try to blame it on the Republicans but...............American's know better and the BS isn't flying anymore.

Best speech by a modern day President IMO. And considering he's a business man and the Stock Market has hit a 12 week high, last seen since 1997, I think America and THE WORLD have recognized the change?

Anyone who thinks 1% Economic Growth, 150% increase in deficit spending and NOT PUTTING TOGETHER A BUDGET PLAN FOR 6 YEARS is GOOD.....KEEP SMOKIN THAT CRACK!

Government hiring freeze, re-negotiating trade deals, bringing back billions upon billions of dollars held in overseas accounts, increasing jobs (increases the tax base that has been lost) and reducing business regulations will in fact, increase revenue and spending which all is taxable - which brings in additional revenues to cut the deficit and support fiscal responsible spending. NO MORE DRUKEN SAILORS OUT ON THE TOWN WITH A HOT PAY DAY CHECK IN HAND!

FISCAL PLANNING AND RESPONSIBILITY - He's a businessman - not a LAWYER - he understands CASH FLOW.

SQUIRM LIBS SQUIRM - HAHAHAHA!

It's called a budget, not something democrats and liberals seem to comprehend. Understandable considering the majority don't know where money comes from, and it therefore follows that they can't see how the choices a business, government, or individual makes might dictate the financial success or failure of that entity (see, for example, the state of California).

You see, it's possible to make choices on where you spend money. Trim here, so you can spend more there. Get it? Spend less on beer and cigarettes, you have more money to spend on eggs and milk. You can also "find" money by eliminating certain costs completely. For example, you need public assistance because you can't make ends meet - so you eliminate your cell phone, cable TV, XBox subscription etc. So now you have extra cash to allocate to things like a pair of work boots with the added bonus of having extra time to utilize them for their intended purpose.

Accountability - it's an incredible concept.

Heck, if we just eliminated 2/3 of the gubment bureaukrauts and their useless jobs, we'd have enough money to do all of the President's agenda and have money left over. THAT's where he's going to have the most trouble... He's responsible and leads the US gubment, but there are so many departments and people that he likely will eliminate that they will do whatever they can to undermine his efforts... like the Federally Illegal leaks from the NSA... Now is the perfect time for Rick Perry to do what he said he'd do when he ran for president... The DOE was created by the second worse president ever to control and ration our energy resources when it was never needed in the first place... pull the plug.... there's the money right there to more than pay for the increase in defense spending with money left over to start that infrastructure program going... I could go on and on...

Time will tell.

Experts say that Donald Trump is going to explode the budget.

With all the time off work he's talking about for parents and insuring pre-existing conditions, along with $1 trillion to rebuild the infrastructure, I doubt we see a reduction.

If the jobs actually come home like he claims the increased tax base alone will pay for any costs. You know, in an optimist sort of way of thinking. Only time will tell. However we were not doing well the way things have been so I'm willing to see if it actually works.

XB, you are correct, he isn't always a "presidential" speaker. He's not a career politician. That's why we elected him.

I would like to remind you XB, libertarian is just another word for socialist. And to me socialism is nothing but robbing from those who work hard to get ahead to give to those who haven't earned it. Which is exactly what the ACA, welfare and other subsidy programs are.

I don't like thieves.

And these lopsided trade tariffs, the USA and External countries, where we pay massive taxes on goods inbound and there is NATHA on the outbound.

Great example - Harley Davidson motorcycles exported to a SPECIFIC COUNTRY (I bet that country is JAPAN?) has an export tax of 100% of the motorcycle.

Do the math - easy to see why the USA is getting fiscally hammered.

And it's easy to recognize - changing this lopsided BS will provide additional revenue streams inbound, for goods on an EQUITABLE BASIS, as we export these items.

And hopefully - the Intellectual Property lost from our country, all industries, gets a serious nod during these trade\tax agreements? If a country is willing to PIRATE OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES, there should be consequences to pay, if they continue to support this practice.

And that is more revenue into our Fiscal system - not realized from previous administrations.

I didn't read any other comments. My only opinion is it was just a calm version of most Trump speeches. Mediocre at best. But hes never been good at them, so I didn't expect much. He was dead on on some things, way off on others. Either way, we will see what he can actually do.

Obamacare needs repealed. If he gets that done, I consider his entire presidency a win.

I fully comprehend how Republicans spend. My hope is Trump brings some order to taxing and spending. Time will tell. It starts with a budget. Of course, Obama not ever holding down a job in the real world knew nothing about a budget. Just spend, spend, spend on his social projects.

I think the thing that scares the Liberals, especially the progressive wing, the most is that Trump might actually accomplish the things he says he will. If he does, it is game, set, match for them.

I assume you mean deficit and not budget.
The deficit is beyond comprehension now, thanks to many politicians who spent our money on things with no value for the last 70 years.
Fact is, infrastructure absolutely HAS to be done and if that leads to increased debt it sure wont be Trumps fault. It will be the fault of all those before him.
I dont believe it will lead to increased debt because if implemented his policies will bring in money to the gov. Like never seen before.

That is a valid point. But he isn't really a republican. I repeat, he isn't a politician. He's a business man. Hopefully that will be a productive difference.

I think the thing that scares the Liberals, especially the progressive wing, the most is that Trump might actually accomplish the things he says he will. If he does, it is game, set, match for them.

Donald Trump cannot control the lunatic Republicans in Congress.

Congress has not done their job in decades.

Let the Obama thing & the Hillary thing go. Donald Trump won the election you can stop talking about Obama and Hillary now, lol

With all the time off work he's talking about for parents and insuring pre-existing conditions, along with $1 trillion to rebuild the infrastructure, I doubt we see a reduction.
Who are these "experts"? You, sirshovel, and the other TBH liberal?

The deficit is beyond comprehension now, thanks to many politicians who spent our money on things with no value for the last 70 years.

Fact is, infrastructure absolutely HAS to be done and if that leads to increased debt it sure wont be Trumps fault. It will be the fault of all those before him.

I dont believe it will lead to increased debt because if implemented his policies will bring in money to the gov. Like never seen before.

So will Congress approve infrastructure money for this president because they haven't been willing to do so for the last eight years when it was requested/suggested.

Lol

Nah, I figure the Libs like you shouted Bush at every turn right up to the end of Obama's reign, so just returning the favor.

If the people stay behind Trump, Congress will have to do his bidding or face consequences in 2018.

Did you not see on the news where a repeal Obamacare will raise the deficit 10 trillion dollars over the next decade?

Trump said last night he is going to cover those with pre existing conditions. How is he going to do that without increased taxes I am more government spending.

Oh that's right, he's going to push that expense off on the states, lol

My take on Military spending.

It provides advanced Technological Engineering across many levels and disciplines. And the end result places America at the forefront of Technological Engineering which can be applied and bartered at the Commercial\Civil level as well as Government to Foreign Government level.

Aeronautical and Space advances, advanced propulsion systems (Maritime, Aeronautical & Space), Advanced trauma and medicines & robotics - etc etc etc.

Military spending has given the world FIBERGLASS, GRAPHITE, MAGNESIUM, TITANIUM, DUCT TAPE, ADVANCED EMT AND TRAUMA CARE, SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS, GIS.....ETC ETC ETC

They will develop advanced propulsion systems for Shipping and Trucking. Advances in remote management and robotics, advances in alternative fuels and energies ETC ETC ETC.

So many think Military spending is strictly tied to National Defense and Security. It's tied to so many things including a healthy Intelligence Community and many other things that have decayed to points, the world's State now is the end result - Terrorism is one example.
