Had one on the lease I just got off. Not a fan of how well it worked. But I think the fire box size and grid didn't help. Just seemed to not flow as well.

I'm not that far away. I can show you a few things with mig gun and stick welder.

Funny thing is I absolutely hate welding. Been welding for dads shop since I was 12 and I'm 44 now. . I only do big projects like this because I'm a cheap bastar* and refuse to pay the money for something I know I can build for a fraction of the cost.

Got door cut out and most of it ground and cleaned up. Time to get racks, dampener plate and stack built. Might actually have it ready to cook on this weekend.

Thanks guys.

Had an issue with torch on my miller and had to replace it today. Wish I'd done that before starting, like a brand new machine again. Lol.

Getting stack on and then tomorrow I'll finish it up with the racks and handle and whatever small stuff I've forgotten to do.

It is bigger than needed by a long shot, like twice the size. Lol
I actually wanted a way to big firebox for just loading up when I need a good 6 hour nap.

I have a reverse flow I built and my fire box will get it done but should of been bigger. Good choice on going bigger, reverse flows need a bigger fire box from my experience.

Where does the smoke exit the chamber? I don't see a hole anywhere.

Reverse flow, so the stack and firebox are on the same side.

Yes I understand that. I don't see the hole in the chamber where the smoke exits into the stack.

I couldn't stand it and had to build a fire before it's done. Needs dampener on stack, temp gauge and a little cleaning up.
