Default Texas turning Blue?

Saw several reports the Clinton and Trump are basically tied here in Texas. Several of the down ballot races showed the same.

Have we reached a turning point here in Texas or is this just backlash from Trump running on the ticket?

Play nice....maybe we can have a discussion

I'm afraid so. Nobody can compete with Santa Claus. To the masses, free stuff looks really good. Add in illegals voting ( so they can stay and get free stuff ), women whose only issue is whether they can use abortion as birth control, and all sorts of other " groups " voting on their pet issues such as labor unions, BLM, etc. you can look forward to living in Cali-rado-NY City without moving !

I think both sides really dislike their candidates. The difference is the republican side contains people with morals/values, who just can't come around to saying yes they will vote for trump. The left just does what its told. So that's what makes up the relatively close race in Texas.

Come election day, I think a lot of repubs will hold their nose and vote for the guy, and Texas will be an easy state for trump.

Remember "Turn Texas Blue"? Well they lost by like 20 percentage points. It's not going to happen this election. I don't like what the future holds, but it won't happen this time.

That's hard to believe right now but I know with every illegal alien that crosses the border and stays in Texas that statement could very well become fact. It may also just be the GOP candidate. I doubt that discussion would even come up if Cruz or Carson were the nominee.

Michael has a write up in the Politics forum before it got put on perm lock down......where his (and others) vote was going to a third party because they couldn't possibly fathom voting for Trump...and didn't buy into that their votes NOT for Trump were essentially a vote for Clinton...
they used the "texas is a republican state...nothing is going to change that...so our vote isn't wasted...it will still go republican..." reasoning for that opinion.

Wonder if theres any re-thinking that now.

We just need better lying GOP candidates. They need to say with a straight face they love illegals and want to give them all more free stuff than the Dems. Just lie about everything like Dems do but do the opposite once elected.

And it's hard to believe. I want anyone here to do a sample poll in any city in Texas. Tell me the results. No way more than 50% would vote for Hillary...maybe 20% max. But heck I don't know anyone who would.

Does your vote even really count at all? I mean if they can kill whoever they want and do a list of illegal activities longer than my arm AND get caught but nothing happen, why would one assume our votes even count?

Then why did he receive more primary votes of any republican candidate in history??

Its two things that are causing our state to turn blue (IMO).

1.) A huge number here in the state refuse to vote because their candidate lost...cry me a river. The sad thing is, is that the majority of these people have voted in the past for not their candidate, or for the candidate that was the nominee. But refuse to this time...

2.) The amount of non-Texans flooding in from California and south of our boarder.

It's still wasted vote. No third party will win. So. We have two choices. Trump and Hillary So if he votes third party it's the same as not voting to keep one or the other out.

It's that half empty glass or half full glass.

Am I voting for trump to win. Or am I voting trump so Hillary looses.

I'm not sure I want trump in. But for sure I don't want Hillary. So I vote to keep Hillary out.

Also due to the ppl that vote their third party "conscience" because "Texas will never turn blue". Like it or not it's a two party system. It's either a vote for The Republican or Democrat.

I don't think it's turning Blue however several of the larger markets like Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso have been blue for a while. All of those counties voted Blue in the last election.

With that being said I think Trump will win Texas. Although the polls aren't showing it I believe there are a lot of people who support Trump that aren't really saying anything right now but will show up come voting time.

Not true, what they do is find a head hunting company that gives them a SS card with another individuals name and then they become eligible to vote!! It happens all of the time. Not to mention what project veritas uncovered this week!!! They have been rigging elections for a long time..

i think everyone has a skewed idea of the voting base. if you look at facebook and fox news and tbh, then yeah its gonna seem like trumps up. we tend to surround ourselves with like-minded people. and, there is confirmation bias.

i think texas will stay red, but i think it will be closer than ever before.

University of Houston released thier polls this morning....show Trump up by 4%.

The press showed Reagan losing too.....

This whole dog and pony show makes my blood boil just like yours.....but what can we do? Only thing i know to do is live life to the fullest, buy more ammo and food.....and keep loving my wife. We dont have kids so it makes it a bit easier on us but we still wonder nonetheless. We have strategically built our fleet of vehicles to be able to go where most wont be able too. If the roads lock up, we turn right, lock in 4wd and off we go. We do have land in SE oklahoma to go to but theres nothing there.
