Personally I feel that if your are a member of the TBH you should automatically get a bow stand. But I don't make the rules so here's to hoping for round three!

Agreed, they should just give us TA-7 and make that an off limits "TBH ONLY" area!

Agreed, but I'd like to advocate for adding 8A to our "TBH ONLY" area

Think we should all just agree that the entire base should be ours. Which includes the flag poles area. I saw so many doe around that area it's ridiculous lol.

No kidding. I've been waiting for a shot at one for three years and they just stand there laughing at me on my way out.

How do I get out to 5E? Seems like I'd have to take Lewis Valley to Cowgill then Houston Cutoff to Sewell. I imagine cutting through TA 9 is frowned upon?

Yeah I wouldn't go through TA9 (impact area). Sounds like you got your route. I've never been over there but after looking at the map your route plan is how I'd go. You might get out there though and find a bypass route you could use.

Default Gps coordinates

I got stand 6a7 and I cannot figure out the coordinates I put them into google and end up on the other side of the world. I tried the converter and followed your instructions and the same thing happened. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. This is my first year drawn and I have never set foot on camp Bullis. I am heading out there Saturday and have no idea how to find my stand location. If you can help me please do.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Paste this into Google Maps: 29.669473,-98.574901

I entered stand coordinates in UTM format at http://tagis.dep.wv.gov/convert/ to convert UTM NAD27 Zone 14N to output Lat/Lon NAD27.

If you're having trouble with tuning your broadheads, I've heard good things about RamCat fixed blades, but I haven't tried them yet. Have fun. Go Aggies!

Didn't have time to brush it in, but this is what I'm going with. I brought two cameras out but forgot one needed 8 batteries! Also need some ideas for relatively cheaply mounting a cam where trees are scarce.

Anyone else have pics of their setup?

I couldn't wait to check the cam, so I went out today and found some nice surprises. I had this same buck on camera last year. What a difference one season makes.

Msimms6288 thanks so much for the Intel. I'm all setup except cutting some lanes and brushing in the blind that will have to wait till next weekend. I have a heart condition that really limits what I can get done. Thanks again for the help God bless and good luck to you.

Holy smokes! That buck is out at Bullis? I've been here since Nov of 2014 and never even considered putting in for the draw out there. I could just kick myself.

Gentleman thank you so much, you are truly brothers in arms, and now brothers in hunting, people don't understand there is bond between us as hunters that may not be as unbreakeable as veteran but is definately there none the less. I appreciate the offers for sure but I should be ok from here out got all the bigs things done. But the generosity off everyone's time is a great gift. Thank you all.

On another note Sims that Buck is huge and I've never been good at scoring them but I'd say atleast mid 160's awesome just awesome buck.

I've always just put corn out on my parents farm in Ohio. Other than that never used a feeder. I set it to go off for 15 seconds am and twice in the evening. My question is if a deer is around that feeder when it goes when deer are present will they be spooked. Or just kinda get out of the corn flinging range. What are the times I should set it for as I've never used one before and don't want to chase them out if they are in the area when it goes off.

Also there is pig crap everywhere in the fields and woods around my spot 6a7 and rooting everywhere the entire stand area is polluted. Is this a norm all around Bullis or am I in as the say hog heaven lol.

The deer may run off when the feeder goes off but they typically come back shortly from what I've seen. Doesn't take them long to get used to it. They actually start timing their arrival to the feeder by the sound, it seems like. I set mine for one after first light and one in the afternoon and adjust for when I want to be in my blind. Don't forget the time change in October. You don't want it going off too early or you'll increase the chances of bumping deer. You start to see feeding patterns after just a few days. As for the pigs...they are everywhere. You'll probably have more opportunities than you'd like to shoot hogs.

It had 300 pounds in it as of Sunday and it's only spinning 3 sec 2X per day. I hope it's enough to keep them coming

Normally if you look up the manual for your feeder it will give you a rough estimate of spin time to weight ratio that it is putting out.

Twice a day at 20 seconds is a lot of corn.

It depends on a lot. Is it set on high, med, or low? The gap between the funnel and the spinner plate also plays a role. I actually thought about putting a bucket over the feeder, run it for 10 seconds, and weigh the corn in the bucket. That's probably the most accurate way to know
