Been out there since Wednesday. Got a few deer on camera at a fence crossing. Two young bucks. Sat in a hasty ground blind to observe. Nothing spotted.

Had a nice visit from BWSSR and his wife. Got a road cleared for my jeep so I can get to the back. Lots of lopper action. Yaupon is the devil.

Had a guy come out this morning to give me a quote on a couple awnings.

Sucks going back to work tomorrow.

Here's a couple monster bucks I got the first few days I had a camera out.

I think I'll give them another year or four.

No, been trying to take my son and nephew hunting while working like a dog as well as finishing up the new house. I thought I knew what busy was up until the past 6 months.

Had a long weekend. Had some friends up so I had to leave early and put up bunk beds and light fixtures in the cabin

Then it was time to try my hand at some electrical work. SHOCKINGLY I didn't hurt myself. Installed a couple breakers

New outlet outside

I also needed an outlet outside the cabin for external lighting and extension cords. Tapped into an inside outlet.

And then it was time to relax. Steaks, Spotted Cow beer from Wisconsin, and a big azz fire for the 30 degree weather.

And time to check the trail camera. No feeder yet. Just hand corn

We had some friends spend the weekend. They are originally from New Jersey. They loved the place. They want to buy land now.

Bobby, great place. On your party pad, I would (if it's not done already) make dang sure that thing is bolted together on the legs, not just slipped together. Don't ask me how I know :-(. oh, make sure it's tied down with small cable too not that rope that comes with them, that stuff stretches and then the wind picks up the tarp and well, it ain't pretty.

Beautiful place and congratulations to you and the family.

Put a self tappin screw through every joint in that awning hootus, and it will last a while. I'd drive a T post in next to every corner post and tie it down too. We have one like that.

Congrats, my friend!

It's gonna be a welded up awning that can be turned into a barn/shed after we get rid of the camper. 24x40'.

We just started. Now that deer season is over, we are going to start getting serious! I have never seen as many hogs as we have out there this year. It should be a bloody few months!

Got a feeder and a quad pod set up this weekend. It was cold and raining most of the weekend. The four wheeler I picked up in TBH was a lifesaver.

I put the feeder, stand, and corn on my 5x8 trailer and pulled it with the Polaris. Everything was going good until if pulled up to the creek and got ready to cross the bridge.

The trailer was too wide. Dang it. I had to drop the trailer and haul all the stuff individually. Took forever but I got it done.

Got a camera set up. Hopefully the deer in this high hunting pressure area will be relaxed enough in bow season to give me a shot.

Bridge too narrow:

Plan B:

I forgot to take pictures of the setup.

The rain messed up my other plans.

To be continued....

Thanks for following Steven!

Here is where the feeder is set up. It's in the back of the property up on "KCA Hill". Lots of deer sign and the location where the trail cam pics from above were taken:
