    deer fetus stages?

Anyone know how long it takes in development stages of deer fetus? Just curious, I never paid attention until one other guy told me about looking for them. Usually in mid Dec most would be about an inch or 2 long. Does that mean they were bred in Oct or Nov?

Get a fetus scale from Forestry Suppliers. They are calibrated using the Julian calendar and allows you to back date the fetus to when it started developing. Allows you to figure the time frame when that doe was bred. Now if this is just one or 2 a year then you really cant tell much, but with a larger sample and maybe a few year time frame you should be able to figure out what part of the season the majority of your does are getting bred.

Bear, good to know people still do this, When people ask you when the rut is in your area you can do more than guess.
      Good luck!
