Rebel XS or Rebel T-3?

What is the difference and which is best for a starter rig?

T3. XS is an older basic starter. The T3 replaced it, and shoots 720 video, and gives you 2 more megapixels. I have the XS. It is a good camera, but I am ready to upgrade. If you can get the T2i or T3i. They are even higher mgpxl, and I beleive the 3i is 1080. Not sure about the 2i.

I just bought a new T3 the t3i has a few more advanced options but nothing I cared about plus its $200 more
