Question for knife makers (straight razor)

I'm making a straight razor out of a old file. I have a few questions to ask. What kind of oil should I quench it in, and what angle should i sharpen it at?

I don't think that edge is going to work well for a razor. You can quench in used motor oil then temper.

I've found mineral oil works best. But for a straight edge razor you are going to have to bring back the bevel back all the way.

For straight razor your going to have to grind that thing along thinner. Half hollow grind is normally the way to go. As far as quenching goes vegetable oil, or peanut oil will work. Don't grind too thin before you quench.
