        Hmmm looks fun.

I did see a video of a pig taken out by a sharpened ground rod while in a trap. May as well been a howitzer. Smooth stoned that pig

If you think you might be interested, I would recommend you look into Thunderbird Atlatl http://www.thunderbirdatlatl.com/

It's been several years since I messed with them but I used a wood atlatl and aluminum darts.

I'm sure he makes good atlatls but I like this cuz the dart breaks down. I was think of putting it in my back pack and maybe hunting with it.

I would like to see a major league pitcher through one of those, with a more rigid dart, those look way flimsy.

The springiness of the dart is part of the reason the atlatl is so effective. I've included a quote from Bob Perkins, one of the foremost atlatl experts.

"The dart is like a long, loose spring," he explained "and when accelerated by the atlatl it compresses and stores energy. That energy is then used to push itself away from the atlatl, enabling the dart to launch smoothly and effectively."

                This is an excellent article:

Atlatl & Dart, Spear Thrower, or Spear-Thrower information and tips and tricks by Thomas J. Elpe and Bob Perkins, the Atlatl Bob.

I watched his videos part of the reason I went from a 125 gr point to a 250gr

They are fun to throw. We've got a wood setup. Might have to try one of these carbon rigs.

I ordered 2 extra darts, maybe I put 250gr field points on it to tune it. Please tell me what you think.
