So I was given a Darton DS 4500 today... not new but looks to be in great condition. Looks new other that the string. I had planned on taking it to a local specialty bow shop to have it looked over, change the string and have it set up for me... but was told that may be a mistake. Is there something special about Darton that would give you pause before taking it to a local bow shop ?
I've never owned a compound, and never even heard of Darton before. I shoot a recurve, so... I had thought it was some off brand.
Also, the riser design looks to be different than the current DS 4500 on the Darton site. I assume it's a previous year model. How would I go about finding out what year it was made ?
Thanks all...
