So I ordered a Pennco dump feeder the other day with the idea of a "hidden/silent" feeder. I had a good buck in Blackwell on camera last season a couple times on different trails I watched. Problem is I never had him on pics around any feeders. Where I hunt at home in NE Texas we just hand corn a spot. So for this deer I'm thinking of mounting the Pennco on my barrel but instead of feeder legs just hanging it by pulley and cable up about 20 ft in an old live oak I think is near his bedding area. Thoughts are he will just get used to there being corn there but without the sight or sound of the feeder. Any thoughts? Good or bad. Thanks TBH

I basically have done the same thing for a few years with great results. I live by my lease so I have a few 6.5 gallon feeders about 25' in the air. I also have one 30 gallon that is on a pulley and cable that I put about 20' in to an oak tree. I have bucks feeding under them that never came to a regular feeder before.

Yep they work great! Hanging them high in a tree and out of deer sight is the way to go IMO

I never used the Pennco brand. I was about to order one, but I may hold off. The fact that it runs on one AA battery has me worried. Back in the day I used a dump feeder that was designed for fish feeding, but I can find them anymore.
