So I bought a real camera finally :)

Picked up a Canon EOS 60D last week.... now just have to learn to use it.

My son is playing football this year for first time ever- 7th grade. He is a beast and wanted to get some good pics.

Niece is a cheerleader also....so been getting the two of them.

Anyone know if you can take a picture of a video, like a frame grab?

took it to ground blind but that's not going to work. Dang thing is too noisy when deer are that close. If I video with it, and could then take screen shots or something that would be ok, but cant appear to do that?

I love my 60D. You have chosen wisely. Now it's time to start saving up for good lenses. If you can do it, I'd spring for the 70-200 f2.8. That is a great lens for sports, especially when they're at night.

I've been looking at that one and a Nikon. Interesting to hear you mention noise because that was a concern of mine

What I figured worked well was turning the shutter timer up so it doesn't keep timing out. Then when you first turn video camera mode on, it clicks on time- Then if I don't turn it off its quiet rest or time when recording and starting and stopping. Would not be issue in rifle blind or tall tree from distance but to much noise for point blank.
