That's what I feel like. I'm still looking for that unicorn. So far this place is as close as I have been. I've hunted with great groups of guys the past few yrs but had different issues at each place. I knew this last season might be a 1 and done but it was worth it. Trying to dig some deep roots in this one. Been trying to get to this area since 2009 but never had an Opp. One finally came a knocking so here I am.

Really missed my west tx homies!

Should be a great start for the year. We normally don't get much rain during Jan and Feb, but it's been above average for us which is a great sign. I'm hoping this will get the forbs and all of the food plots growing again.

Just heard we got 1.5" in Christoval. I was going to top off all protein feeders tomorrow but now I'm going to wait until next week.

Had a good weekend at the lease just north of Eldorado. Found a few sheds. Topped off water, Cottonseed, and protein. Trapped 3 more coons, and had time to sneak in a evening hunt and connected on a decent Black Buck.
