    Rain rain don’t go away....

While many of you have received adequate to above average rainfall this winter us “flat landers” on the Llano Estacado have been severely parched. What little moisture we received was blown dry by hard 40+ mph winds or exceptionally dry air (dew points below zero). It has been terribly dry and dusty, but at about 5pm thick dark clouds opened up, and after the pea to marble sized hail quit it has been raining solid, slow and steady. Had to move the dog out of the kennel because it is flooded and it keeps falling.

Hope this is a pattern. It will at least keep the brush fires at bay for a week or so, maybe allow for some April cotton and the dust will settle until at least the weekend (maybe)

Thank you LORD for the rain

The last rain could be the start of another drought.

          I’ve always remembered that.

The Lord is merciful! It’s amazing what a good rain does for your spirits. I enjoyed seeing a lot of my farming friends in Terry County posting rain videos on Facebook. Now if it’ll do the same in Stonewall County I’ll be even more thankful.

Rain gage showed about 1/2 inch here, don't know when we last had measurable rain. Glad it came though, I was afraid I might get out of mowing weeds this year.
