A group of wayward hikers wandered onto the Austin Archery Club range this week and confronted a foam cheetah target. The hikers, who said they got within 20 feet of the 3-Dimensional target, thought they were looking at a mountain lion. They turned around and fled for their very lives. News of this non-event made local, state and national news.
So, the target for this week is a sign warning of mountain lions. Since, the hikers say they got within 20 feet, I'm going to split the difference between 20 feet and 20 yards (having seen the cheetah target as recently as noon today).
Shot is one arrow at 14 yards (7 for kids) toward the red dot on the nose of the mountain lion shown on the sign below. Have fun!
