so this gets hit by a car. knocked out cold. as you can see from the progression of the photos it lived. hard to take with a live bird in on hand and a cheap phone in the other. look at the blue feathers and how its wings are in the first two. and how its ready to fly in the last. it was tryin to peck me in the second. and grabbed my finger when it felt like flying. tying to set it free and was moving my hand up and down to help it jump off. it flew away!

Cool! We get birds inside our fire station apparatus bay during the warmer months, everything from pigeons to humming birds, sometimes we can save them and sometimes they don't make it. It is pretty cool when we save one and see it recover.
