Was a quick set this morning. Got in, enjoyed the sun rise, and doe began to filter out under the feeder. As we watched the doe eat I look to the left and see another deer walking fast towards them. One look through the binos and I could tell he was a shooter and let Caci know to get ready. Of course he cuts a doe and the chase is on. (Went through this yesterday and never got a shot) He stopped but this time made the mistake of stopping in a clearing and provided a broadside shot at around 150 yards. That’s all Caci needed. Report of the rifle was quickly followed by the thud of impact. Deer made it 30 yards and piled up. He’s not her biggest deer but he’s one of the biggest taken on the land where I grew up. She can’t wait to cook bourbon venison tips and venison burgers!
