What do you think of the 2019 Ford Ranger?

Ford released a few details on the North American version. Looks like they are marketing it towards people (like me)who drive a truck “to work” not “for work” and want to haul small stuff on the weekend. Only offered in the 2.3 L Ecoboost 4 cylinder which is kind of surprising but I think that engine puts out close to 300 HP and a fair amount of torque. There has been an overseas version of this truck for several years so maybe they have the “new model bugs” worked out

Cost and fuel mileage almost same as full size, so I never really understood why give up so much for a smaller truck. They would be a little easier to drive and park in metro areas..... Looks good though.

My 88 was indestructible. 250k miles rolled TWICE, abused beyond believe still ran like a champ. Didn't have enough power to tear itself up... but the 6cyl would haul @$$!!!

Mexico has had 4x4 4 door rangers for years. Always thought they were awesome and wondered why not in the USA

A full size half to 4x4 crew cab can be had for $35k. Some of these things would be pretty neat if they were selling in the low 20's, but why compromise towing capacity and resale to MAYBE save a couple grand, at best, up front??
