Found myself in Telluride over the forth with a large group of friends. Managed to get away every morning to hit the san Miguel. Got to break in my new Helios H3 6 wt for one morning. I found it a little more stout than needed so I switched to my Recon 5 wt the remainder of the trip.

Congrats, looks like a great trip! My wife is my favorite hunting and fishing partner, I rarely go without her.

I am going to do my dead level best to hookup on a redfish tomorrow. It will be my first on a fly. Good Lord willing I will post up pictures tomorrow and thereafter a video

How in the world you cast a fly in that 20mph plus wind that always seems to be blowing down there? I think I would be wore out trying to cast a heavy rod into that. It can be challenging with my spinning gear.

Set yourself up to cast with the wind. The back cast is easier to fight.

Oh for sure. I just just prefer fall. Fishing is better, plus the Extreme heat and 1,000 of your new best friends at the boat ramp during summer just kind of turns me off a little.
