    West Texas Big Bobcat Contest

    My team (Blain Parrish and Doug Payne) and I won today. We had the largest bobcat to qualify and took home the largest 1st place pot ever given in Texas, over $18,000. It's was the first animal we killed and he actually missed it first shot. It was his first bobcat in a contest and the only animal we saw during daylight hours. We also shot 6 grey fox to qualify our bobcat but all during the nighttime before midnight. It's been a long time coming to this point, over 25 yrs of hunting varmint contest all over the state and now we've won the biggest.
    Second place was a 34.4# cat
    Third place was 29#
    The most animal pots were;
    Most coyotes=17
    Most bobcats=tie with three each
    Most fox=47

    It's incredible how excited we were all the way home over our accomplishment. I'm truly blessed for the fun I've had in the outdoors.

              That's one large cat, so we know it was over 34 pounds but just how much is the question.

              Awesome cat and congrats on a great win.

                      That's a great cat! That is a fun hunt. I've done it a few times. Always turned in cats, but nothing around 30...I don't have any land far enough west. Congrats!
