Default Bow rack present

Just finished up making this bow rack for my dad for Christmas. I cut it out by hand with my plasma cutter and welded the bow holder pegs on there.

Can't decide on whether to polish up a bit more and clear coat or paint?
Leaning towards painting it black and then doing the bow holding pegs red to match his black and red bow. Any suggestions?

It looks awesome!! Personally I like it the way it is looks old and rustic, but that's just my opinion and your making this for your dad so it has to be what he likes more.

Very nice work! As far as finishing it out, maybe give it a shiny, grinder-swirl texture then clear coat.

Thank y'all for the compliments. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My parents will be out visiting for Christmas so he will get it then. Perhaps I should leave it how it is and give it to him. Ask how he wants the finish and just knock it out while he is here.

How did you finish it for your Dad.

As a Dad myself, Iím sure he appreciated it.

Put some Murat ice acid in a spray bottle. Mist it on and wash off. Clear coat over that for a rusty look

Thanks for the compliments y'all. I ended up just wrapping it how it was and after he opened it I asked if he wanted me to polish it up and clear coat or paint it or what. He said he liked it how it was and just to clear it. Ha so less work for me. Glad he ended up liking it.
