Really coming along. Ranch improvement is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. Looks like you guys are off to a heck of a start. Keep up the good work.

Sure wish I could have realized that before I started......I think I have run out of breath at least twice in the last 11 months.

The scariest part is the plans are getting bigger....and more expensive. It has definitely become the only place I want to be though. Now if I can figure out a way of not rushing through the years of my life just to look back and say "man look how far we have come"......enjoy the time at hand.

Sounds like you got it figured out. Now you just have to implement that. I'm betting you will want to be in that nice new house as well! We are 10 years in on our place and really over the last 3-4 seasons we have felt like we can go and enjoy it without worrying about stuff. It's all good. Has been a very cool transformation. And there is always something to buy for the ranch.

Middle of August update.....all T&G ceiling is up, rooms have wood ceilings in, cedar columns up, sheetrock is up throughout and the icing on the cake(balcony rails).

Pictures don't do it justice.......

Hopefully the weather starts cooling off and we get started on the outdoor kitchen soon.

Well done boys! Looking forward to seeing some blood under the shed this year. We hunt a bit south of ya, horns sure look good this year. Have you pulled cards or hunted yet?

Blood? Heck we don't hunt.....we build stuff. Horns do look good this year but patterns are all screwed up. Not sure when the natural forage will be gone this year there is so much. We'll be there waiting when it is.......

Default Cabin is almost done!

Ron (millman) and I started this project in March.
It is done with the exception of plumbing the kitchen sink, flooring and a bathroom cabinet.
Its been a great project and I think it turned out great!!!

Well with some big changes in the works the to-do list have been on the back burner last couple months but we made a little progress the weekend......Bob added some wood floor to the cabin and we got one of 2 bins standing.

The protein bin is up and the corn bin with auger system will be loaded up next week and ready for the next trip down.

Another chore finished! We have the protein and corn silo's up and auger system in place.....now we just got to find the money to fill'em.

My son and his wife have been out for the last week or so patching/fixing fences. Hoping to get about 3 miles of bad shape fences patched up.

Thanks to all for the kind words we appreciate it! It has really been fun(at least when you look back). This past weekend as we sat on the porch(to tired to stand) I was ask....."hey what does it take to get a day off around here". Not sure if the answer is going to be well received.....just got word from the bank that all is approved on a deal to add some more ground to the east side of the ranch that includes some really nice barns and a older home.

Kind of a bitter sweet addition.....with the cabin and the trailer house in place and all the work to get it where it is, I don't see how the house will ever be as special as what we have built. But hey....move a wall here and there raise the ceiling height, then add a pool table, bar, few neon signs in the barn and we might be able to make it work.
