Default Live hunt - Pipe Creek

Going to attempt to run an arrow through a couple of does and/or legal bucks this weekend. Have a few Axis moving through here also, so fingers crossed. Father-in-law is not a hunter, but put up a pop-up for me before Thanksgiving in a really bad spot. Ended up shooting an Axis doe out of it after passing a bunch of WT does and a few young, small bucks. Got in late last night, so drove out to the 15 acres mid-dayish and the wind from yesterday blew the pop-up across the property, luckily. I got to set it up where I want it with a 20 yard shot to the feeder and Chaffhaye. Now if I could just get rid of this cough....

Think they're not a huge fan of the blind being moved...If I had a shotgun and some 000 buckshot, we'd be done

Wind swirled, old doe blew at me. Hanging out at about 80 yards now. I hate old does.

Guess is probably isn't going to happen tonight. Deer weren't quite sure of the new blind. Had a doe at 30 a few times, but they were super nervous and never did make it to the feeder and eat. With only having 15 acres, I want them at 20 or closer and calm.

Back in the blind. Had a deer on the feeder when we pulled in. Can already hear a few milling around out there.

Mama told me she wanted some more deer meat in the freezer, so I've got the rifle this afternoon. Can't shoot a rifle from the blind(FIL doesn't want me shooting that direction with a rifle), so I picked a spot on the ground. Got here a little late this afternoon, but we'll see what happens.

No sign of life so far. But there's several neighbors running equipment real close by, so might not work out tonight.

You’d be surprised how accustomed they can’t get to noise. We have oil/gas wells on our place now making constant noise still have plenty of deer movement

Not much of a story. I found a spot on the ground that I wasn't terribly happy with, but there wasn't a much better option. Four came in, whacked the biggest doe, yearling didn't want to leave, whacked her, 2nd big doe came back, whacked her.
