Yes, oxford white. The white platinum looks great also, but coming from a mineral gret metallic truck, i wanted a pure white. Love how clean the color is after a fresh wash.

All this truck talk lead me to the Ford website to build my new truck. I figured I might as well go big. F-450 limited with all the bells and whistles comes out to be $94,155.00. I think I will start saving now and by the time I can afford it they can bury me in it.

Please dont , i have only seen one other solid oxford King Ranch 2017 on the texas roads lol. For 2018 you can now get a King Ranch in solid white platinum which is cool also. But in all seriousness, do it you will love it.

Not true in my experience. The thieves really like the older 4x4 7.3 diesels.

Massive repairs may cost this much, but those repairs are not necessary every year on a vehicle with under 150,000 miles. A truck payment is a guaranteed expense. Youíre assuming that you are going to have about a 3500 repair bill every quarter at minimum, which just doesnít normally happen on a truck.

Example: 1) I have a new truck that I pay for with zero issues. That truck is going to cost me around 14k that year if I buy something in the $60k range.

2) I have a truck/vehicle that is paid off and the transmission blows. I spend $10k-13k out of pocket for replacement.

You still spend less money out of pocket with a major mechanical failure on a paid off vehicle than you do making payments.

Edit: Iím not trying to say donít go get the truck. If you want it, get it. Heck, I pay $900 a month for my wifeís Yukon that I never really drive.
This is absolutely true. The problem is that most (not all) people can not come up with $13-15k for a truck repair even if the truck is paid for. The American public isn't wired like that anymore. The $1000 that is saved when the truck payment ends is spent on something else, not saved.

That being said, I haven't had a truck payment in 6 years but I am thinking real hard about getting a new one. Just can't decide between the Ford or a Dirtymax to replace this old 7.3.

Ford. I was going back and forth between the Duramax and Stroke when I bought my F-350. The new L5P was having too many issues to feel comfortable with it, so I was looking for a leftover LML. I made the mistake of driving the F-350, and that was it. The next day I placed my order for exactly the truck I wanted. Iíve been a diehard Chevy guy my whole life.

Bought my f250 in 2008, V-10 gas, I only have 60,155 miles on it as of today, walked out for $32,000.00, looked at new ones other day here in Sherman, with everything I have on mine to get a new one was $69,000.00, so guess I will keep driving this one till it falls apart

God Bless

Wow! Not to derail but did anyone ever imagine a few years ago saying $62k for a truck is a “hell of a deal?” Bought a new duramax work truck two years ago and my mind was blown with a couple upgrades and it was significantly cheaper but Dang it knocked my socks off. It’s really insane when you think about it. Imagine what they’ll cost in another 5 years, yikes!

I would say that most everyone that buys a brand new truck is buying because they WANT a new truck. You can justify it a million different ways if you want to convince yourself to buy a new truck. But there is absolutely no way you can convince me that a vehicle is anything more than an expense that you will never recoop the money spent on it. I was told a long time ago by a gentleman with a lot more money than most that you should never finance a vehicle unless That vehicle is 100 percent responsible for at least 2x its monthly expense in profit for you.

What interests me is the people who make payments on a truck then go out and get them all decked out with rims etc. But i mean at the end of the day its just money and will be spent on something eventually, and if youre content with where youre at then it doesnt really matter, right?

Anyone have any idea if these beds are the same size as the previous body style. I have a bed cover id like to use on this new one, just not sure if it fits and don't want to open the box until I know for sure or not.

I'm pretty sure they are 2-3" narrower than the pre 17's. I was told the whole truck is narrower, so the bed would be too.

But I haven't stuck a tape measure to one....yet.

I have taken my last 2 vehicles which I bought used past 200k miles. This last one had 90k and was 3 years old. Zero wrong with it, but with harvey, it was worth more than I owed plus my down payment. So, I figured what the heck. Same terms, same payment, lower rate, almost same amount financed. New truck, new warranty, don't need to buy new tires in 5 months, and only back up in total debt owed, but my net worth is the same or really close. So in this case it made sense. I'll likely keep this one 200k miles unless we have another 1000 year flood soon

Still seeing a few 2017 Lariats listed online. What would y'all consider to be a normal discount with all the '18's on the lot? I'm of the mindset they should discount close to a years worth of depreciation but it never seems to be the case when negotiating.

Like I said you can justify it a million different ways. I don't judge your for buying the new truck, and in your case I guess it kinda makes sense. I just cant make myself do it anymore. I spent the first 18 years of my driving life with a car payment and I'm just over it.

Oh, I hear you and agree. I didn't have a payment for a lo ng time and loved it. My goal is to only finance a vehicle for 3 years, and drive it for 6, then start over. Fortunately and unfortunately, I'm self employed and the company pays for the truck pre-tax. The bad news is, I drive a bunch of miles and my vehicle appearance is an issue if I show up in a 10 yr old car at an appointment to build a $1million+ home for someone. I hate that, but most of that clientele does judge my success a little by it. Miles isn't the issue usually, it's the age. I'm good now for 6-8 years since I don't see ford changing the body style any time soon.

'17 or '18? Either way sounds like great deal from what I'm running into while looking.

I was told a long time ago by a gentleman with a lot more money than most that you should never finance a vehicle unless That vehicle is 100 percent responsible for at least 2x its monthly expense in profit for you.
I don't buy new vehicles and personally don't have a truck payment. Im still driving my 2006 3500 cummins with 225,000 miles. But I am a small business owner and have been tempted to buy a new 3/4 ton truck or bigger for a tax write off instead of giving my money to the government. You can depreciate a new vehicle in a single year if need be. So although I think buying new vehicles is a terrible investment and makes no good financial sense there are a few instances they could help you out.

If you finance for 3 and drive it for 6, you shouldn't need to finance again. Just keep throwing that payment in an account after the first 3 years, buy a new truck with cash after 3 more years and then start over
