Anarchy makes the titanium shrouds. I've got that part and the bolt handle from glades.

Got two things accomplished this weekend. Successful ladder test on Friday morning and rang 600 yard steel on Saturday.
Shooting the 143 ELD-X over H4350, I did a 3 round per charge ladder test from 39.5 gr to 42 gr in 0.5 increments. From a previous range day I had determined that 42.5 was showing pressure signs, little bit of primer crater and ejector swipe on the head. Target was at 300 yards here. I color coated the bullets for each load with different sharpie markers. Worked great to tell which shots were which, wonderful since my GoPro flaked out on me. I'm going to work around load number 6, the 42 grain load. Velocity for it was 2729, 2730 and 2733. ![]() Had my son with me Saturday morning. He hasn't shot this gun before, and hasn't ever shot any further than 100 yards. He is a pistol nut, former state champion in SPP steel challenge. He shot a few rounds at 100 to get a feel for it, as well as the mechanics of running a bolt gun. "Quit flinging my brass out on the concrete!" Was a common saying by me that morning. We moved over to the 300 yard range, and he put 2 inside of an inch. Same bench, just a little left now, there is the 350 yard gong. Went 6 for 6 on it. Then it was time to go long. 18" plate at 600 yards. He went prone for it. My ballistics program says 13.4 MOA of drop at 600, 84". MOA turret on the scope, so I told him to dial to 13.5. I attempted to call wind, it was swirling bad, but mostly from behind. Told him hold center and send it. Impact! Repeated 3 more times, slight wind calls as needed. The result: ![]() To say I'm pleased with him is an understatement. |

Yeah I can't wait to see this installed. Can't decide if I want to go with one of these or a classic style Boyd's. I must say I love the functionality of the one you bought

So first time out to shoot the Ruger 6.5 creedmoor and was very pleased on accuracy.
Now heres my issue. I have the Vortex HST Scope 6-24x50 MOA and on the elevation turret I am almost maxed out on how far the turret can go up. I only have 13 MOA left until it maxes out and almost the same thing on the windage. I have read this is a problem and to get a 20 MOA rail to mount the scope on. Is anyone else have this issue? |

Extremely pleased with the accuracy on this gun. Out to the 385 yard gong this weekend without breaking a sweat.
I went with an old-school SWFA fixed 10x, which so far has been a perfect scope for it. |

So, what is the consensus on best performing factory ammo for this rifle in 6.5cm?
Looks like OP was using 120gr. AMAX, and seeing a lot of yall bragging on the 143 ELD-x. Im wanting to set up a feeder at the end of a 500 yard shooting lane to take out some piggies, sniper style. Thinking heavier bullets for longer distance. Is that correct? |

I'm using 143 because I wanted a heavier round for hunting. No experience with any others

Thanks for the update on the Ruger. I love my ruger American. Wish I had waited for the predator that was threaded.
But my .270 with vortex v-brite makes it a great lightweight hunting rifle. Accurate and zero complaints in the field 20+ animals later. |

Not a RAP, but I just purchased a left handed Ruger Hawkeye FTW edition. It's stainless with a natural gear cammo stock ( factory ) it comes threaded & with a muzzle brake. I will pick it up in a few days then put some good glass on it then she what she likes to eat. I'll post reviews after a few rounds down range

Dang. Y'all are dropping some coin on these "budget" rifles. Not staying budget for long LOL. The 6CM has my interest in a cheap truck gun.

My "custom budget rifle" is complete! I have around $950 in it total. I ended up getting a steal on the Viper HS 4-16x44 and a deal on the stock. Added a muzzlebrake and aluminum bolt shroud. The stock is a custom Boyd's prairie hunter with upgrades. I ended up fiberglass bedding the v-blocks on my own and that saved me around $200. The action is in there super tight and the barrel free floats. Should shoot even better than before. Oh yeah, I also cut the trigger spring down to lessen the pull.

Picked up some Hornady Black ammo for $20 a box recently, mainly just for brass. Finally got to shoot it some yesterday. I was really pleased with it. It shot to virtually the same zero at 100 yards as my handloads (143 ELD-x at 2730), and was easily sub-MOA. Closest I could find to it in the Ballistics app was the Hornady American Gunner 140 BTHP at 2690. I was rushed for time and didn't put it through the chrono. That chart showed 5.13 MOA drop at 325. We have a 6" diamond gong set up at 340 yards. I dialed 21 clicks (5.25 MOA) and drilled it 8 straight shots, then my buddy hit it 4 of 4 in his first go at that distance ever. Pretty pleased with the load, especially at the price. I might go back today and actually run it through the chrono and shoot at 600 to see what it does.

What stock adjustments have you done? I shot mine for the first time today and it was okay. I did notice the stock was touching on the left side. I plan on shaving it down but curious to what other adjustments have been done other than buying a Boyd's

I took my daughter hunting this weekend. She carried the youth model 243 and I carried the 308. I’ve got way more expensive of guns to hunt with and we carry these instead. I shot a pig at 320 yards and a coyote at 100. Fun to shoot, easy and confident. Hard to beat

Zero at 100, 1.5 minutes up at 200, 5.25 up at 300 and 5.75 up at 350, where we had the gong at. I think one of the hotter rounds got me there, I missed it just off the top edge, despite it feeling like a great shot. Other than that one miss, we both hit the gong every shot, about 25 rounds. My buddy is taking the rifle and rounds with him to hunt this week, with the intentions of drilling a pig through the shoulders to see how that bullet performs. We have the youth hunt at Garner in a few weeks and I'd like to shoot this round IF the bullet works well. |

Anyone running Leupold PRW medium rings on their RAP? Wanting to know the sight height with this setup. Just mounted a Nikon X1000 on my 6.5. Pretty impressed with the glass on this scope for the money. Thanks.

In response to rings and bases questions, here's my RAR 20" gun in 6.5 CM. Leupold 20 minute rail, Warne Mountain Tech 30mm rings in Low, 44mm objective scope. As you can see, lots of room left for a 50mm scope which will eventually go on the gun.
