My name is rosco11 and I have a problem. Last year I spent an unreasonable amount of money buying firearms (mostly from you guys!) ammo and reloading supplies. I am an addict! Lol.. first step to recovery, I hear! (Side note.. if anyone has a deal on a vintage S&W revolver, Ruger Red Label, Nylon 66 or Model 1100 12ga I'm always a buyer In 2018 hopefully I can do more hunting, sport shooting and range practice now that I'm stocked up. I do have 2 guns from last year I'm still working on and I'll post here.. cool ones!

Not quite a gun, but let the saga begin!

My plans are that one will be a super cheap 300BLK pistol to ride in the truck/ranger. Basically a beater that I dont mind scratching, denting, or polishing off rust when needed.

The other will be a standard carbine length 556 to mount a night scope on for hog/predator/vermin patrol.

This all coming from someone who never has been a fan of the AR-15. Wish me luck!

Guns have only two enemies: rust and politicians!

Going to shoot it this week. It carries very similar to the glock. For me it points very natural. Hopefully that translates into being a good shooter. Trigger is night and day better than the glock

Signed on the dotted line for this one today. Should ship pretty soon. Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5 X 55. Gonna top it with a Swarovski Z3 3-10X42. I can't wait.

I'll handload for it and I really want to load the 130 gr. Swift Sirocco in it. I may buy a box of their ammunition to start with and see how it goes. If not well, then the 130 gr. Accubond will be the second choice.

Man those sciroccos will be awesome in it I bet.. I keep it simple with my hunting rounds, the gamekings have never failed me! Will this primarily be a hunting rifle?

Yes, this will be just a hunting rifle. I had a sporterized Swede when I was a kid, but my dad got rid of it several years ago. I've been hankering for one for a long time.

I've tried the Sirocco's in two other calibers, .257 Roberts and 7mm SAUM and couldn't get them to group as well as I liked, but I think it was that I had them seated too close to the lands. Swift told me to seat them .030-.070 off the lands because they like a little jump. We'll see.

I'll try a box of their factory ammunition to see how it shoots and then work from there.

This one has been a long time coming, bought it from a TBHr months ago, had to fix a few issues and put a propper scope on it, I love it! It's a Smith and Wesson model 1700 LS in 243win. I grew up with the regular S&W 1500 chambered in .222 as my first deer rifle. When this one came in the classifieds I immediately loved it but resisted buying it for some reason, now I'm so glad I went ahead and got it! It's a freaking beautiful rifle!

Yes sir, S&W had Howa make these rifles for a few years, the 1500 sold the most, they also had a 1500 deluxe with a nice monte carlo stock and then this one with upgraded checkering, the curved forestock and a detachable magazine. Crazy thing.. they only imported the 1700LS into the states for 1 year as far as I understand. It's an awesome rifle and if it shoots half as good as my .222, it'll be a hazard for does to step out in the open!
